Up Close and Personal

Students studied the effects of a viewfinder for this assignment.  They also looked at nature and beauty as their focus.  Students looked at details and patterns of wildlife.  They got to choose an animal of their liking and then to zoom in on a particular part of that animal and reproduce their own piece of art using the viewfinder tool.  Students were to experiment with pastels while creating these pieces.  Different pastel techniques were discussed prior to students getting started.  Here are some examples of 6th and 7th graders art work.
