YAM Flag designs

YAM (Youth Art Month) Flag designs.  Students were encouraged to be innovative and create a flag design for Youth Art Month.  Their flag design need to incorporate art, Virginia, and the YAM logo itself into their design.  Chosen winners would have their flag design made into a real 3' X 5' flag that would hang at the NAEA conference in NYC.

Art of Being a Military Child

Student's participated in a city wide competition of art of being a military child.  Each student created a piece on their own personal impact of either being a military child or how the military has effects them in their own lives.  Here is what 4th and 5th graders came up with for their design.

Inanimate Objects turned to Life!

Students create artwork based on transformation and humor for this 3D assignments.  students each brought in a household object.  With that object students were asked to turn that object to life.  Students will building upon the object and also create a landscape in which the object was placed.  This 3D assignment was both focused on 3D form as well as photography when photographing their scene in which heir pieces resided in. Students had fun looking at varies artist work by gaining inspiration for this assignment.
