Giuseppe Arcimboldo

Students learned out court portrait artist Giuseppe archimboldo.  He was famous for his portraits of kings and queens made entirely of fruits, vegetable, and flowers. Students were encouraged to make their own self portrait that was made up of object that represented them.  Students were ask to create a theme of images and not just a collage of different ideas.  Students were asked to think outside the box of items that archmiboldo used and think of their own subject matter.  As a class we discussed what a portrait was and worked on the steps of creating a portrait with correct proportion.  This is what the basic level of students came up with.
