Picasso Inspired Cubist Still Life
Students were inspired by the cubist movement to create these observational drawings. Students worked on drawing a still life that was set up in the classroom. After sketching out their object, students were instructed to divide up their drawing into at least eight sections however they deemed appropriate. Each sectioned needed to have a different color scheme depicted in it. Students were also asked to include at least 5 different drawing techniques in the drawing. Those techniques included stippling, hatching, cross hatching, etc. Here is what 6th and 7th graders came up with.
